Verona

veronaVerona is sometimes called little Rome because of the well-preserved Roman amphitheater – the Arena – a little smaller in size then the famous Colosseum. But for millions of tourists from around the world Verona is first of all the city of lovers, the city of Romeo and Juliet.

Classic medieval architecture in Verona is represented by several beautiful churches and castle Castelvecchio. The castle has a permanent exhibition of Italian art, including the works of famous artists of the Renaissance – Titian, Veronese, Pisanello, Tintoretto and others.

Verona’s cuisine is very diverse. We suggest you try polenta and risotto with minced pork. Besides, this region is famous for wine-making, for instance for the famous wines of the Valpolicella valley.
